The “Pyramid of Khafre” (2550 BC), Fourth Dynasty Old Kingdom . The most preserved of all the Giza Pyramids, its complex is the largest at the Giza Plateau including the “Grand Causeway”, the “Great Sphinx”, and Khafre's “ Valley Temple ”. Adorning the top of the Pyramid are the original white Tura casing limestones. The Pyramid took at least 20 years and 25,000 workers to complete; it stands over 470 ft high today. Because it was built on higher ground and at a steeper angle of 53 degrees, the Pyramid of Khafre appears larger than the “Great Pyramid of Khufu”, which rises in the background. In actuality it is more than 3 meters shorter. The Khafre Pyramid is Pyramid number six.
